Read Valerie's description of the ride (A totally different bike tour: cycletherapy; Warning: this is more about r-e-l-a-t-i-o-n-ships than Bicycles!)

Martha At age 3 she is the youngest rider, and she really did pedal from her mid-position on the tanden with very tiny pedals and a tiny chain. Dad was in front, her older sister behind, and Mom and another sister were on roadbikes. They got a huge ovation when pedaling into the finish line.
Rich and Barbara They worked out a clever system of self sagging. One day Barbara would drive the car and Rich cycle, the next day they switched. On this day, they rode together to Good Hart and then Rich doubled back for the car. An excellent way to have your car at the finish line. Even better with 3 people.
