I was in Bunratty, Ireland for the Gaseous Electronics Conference (www.gec.org) and did some bicycling and touring while there. Soon I will put my journal from the trip in the Blog and put up some tips on bicycling in Ireland.
Bunratty Castle. This is where the banquet mentioned in my journal was.
Road signs. My short morning loop was up the Hill Road, down the Six Mile Bridge Road for a bit, and back down the Low Road.
Passing on a narrow road. A truck and school bus are trying to edge by each other on the Six Mile Bridge Road. Even though this is somewhat of a major road, it's still very narrow.
The Low Road is even more narrow.
Rural scene. It's actually that green. No drought here!
I had a flat tire coming into the village of Six Mile Bridge.
The Village of Six Mile Bridge. A quaint old village and a FedEx truck!
Beaucoup de signs! I pointed toward Limerick 10 miles away.
A rural scene on the way to Limerick.
Riding the freeway into Limerick.
Traffic circle. One needs to be very careful when doing these on a bicycle.
Hmmm! As I was riding the freeway out of Limerick I saw this sign and was a little alarmed. About the same time a police car and ambulance passed me. Down the road I entered County Clare and was relieved by the improved relative safety!
Back to Bunratty. Note the castle in the distance.
